hite King) is actually genius. The Wind in the Willows, however, I could never see reading to Olivia and her counterparts. Boring, long, and lame. One good character doesn't make up for a book-long plot of Lame. So, for those who have an interest, my recommendations for their kiddie library are thus: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Behind the Looking Glass, and The Wizard of Oz (even though it is incredibly bloody; the Tinman beheads forty wolves while the Scarecrow wrings the necks of forty crows). The books to skip: Peter Pan, The Wind in the Willows, and The Secret Garden. I'll admit, I loved the first twenty chapters of The Secret Garden, but then Burnet gets into a bunch of preaching about the effects of nature on the human body. It was just a little too much Christian Science being hit over my head.Little Olivia is now convincingly sitting up. She's been able to for a while, but now she does it without all the wobbling. She stays stock still when her Wonderpets are on, but gets a little excited when toys are around and flops all over the place. Her hair is getting longer and Liz found a way to part it so that she looks less like Hitler and more like a cute little girl. She is a darling, and we love getting up in the morning to find her completely flipped around in her crib and smiling.
And for those of you wondering where my rant is, I'll let this cartoon I made catch you up on the latest things that have happened to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsJClYz2_N0
